About Us

The Tahi Bar + Kitchen is a place people come to spend time.

Recently named New Zealand’s Best Entertainment Venue and a Top 50 NZ Gastropub for two consecutive years, we’ve built something a little different in the heart of Warkworth.

The food brings people in early. The playlists carry the room through the week. And every weekend, live music brings it all together.

There are no TVs pulling attention away — just conversation, shared tables, and a space designed for good company.

Tucked down an alley in this riverside town, The Tahi has become a place locals return to, and visitors remember.

Thursday Poker Club

Join us every Thursday at 6:45 for a night of Texas Hold’em Poker with the Warkworth Poker Club! Whether you’re a seasoned player or a beginner, our club rules ensure a friendly and enjoyable experience for everyone. With just a $20 buy-in, you can join us and have a blast. Don’t miss out – see you there!

Our favourite establishment is The Tahi Bar & Kitchen. Straddling a laneway, this hip nook wouldn't be out of place in inner-city Melbourne and yet it offers the most quintessentially Warkworth experience of all. In fact, "local" is the obsession here.

Great beer, great food, great staff. I love this place! A great range of craft beers, great food (chicken wings are superb), lovely staff. Very relaxed vibe, they support local brewers, local wineries, local food outlets, and local bands (great live music nights!). Great place to just chill out after work in the beer garden.

Nestled in the corner is a gem that is packed with great tasting food, a genuine, welcoming vibe, and an impressive collection of craft and regular brews alike. Occasionally, you may be blessed with some live entertainment as well. A great place for a night out or a simple after work drink.

Every time I pass through Warkworth I stop here for a beer. It's always got a great rotating tap selection and the service is always really friendly. The owners obviously have a lot of passion for their establishment and for the product they serve and the live entertainment is always extremely good.

Hidden gem in Warkworth. On my way north with 2 dogs in the car and stopped off to walk them along the river & stumbled upon this hidden gem. Warm welcome from dog loving owner. Friendly locals & great food. Will definitely be back. Highly recommended
